GPB
was the first all-digital TV and
radio facility in the country.
HA Design designed and project coordinated
the installation of a network
facility for Georgia Public
Broadcasting System.
HA Design designed a production complex that
encompasses Georgia Public
Television, Peach State Radio,
Distant Learning Agency of the State
of Georgia, and the ancillary
operations of Georgia Public
Broadcasting.
The system consists of 3 main
Television Production Studios with
2 Control Rooms. On this same
floor are an additional 6
smaller Television Production
Studios with their associated
control rooms. Also located on this
floor are the Master Control and the
Satellite Control Center. On the
next floor up are 4 Radio
Studios with their Control Rooms and
Announce Booths and an additional
4 Radio Edit Booths. On the
second floor are the Post Production
facilities which included 3
full Editing Rooms,1 Audio
Sweetening Room, and 6 Avid
Editing Rooms. Also located on this
floor is the Graphics Suite that
houses 6 graphics
workstations.
The design included a teleport that includes
9 dishes: 6 1-meter and
3 3-meter dishes.
The
completed Georgia Public
Broadcasting plant has facilities
that far exceed those of most
networks and has a truly all-digital plant.
